It is my honor to serve as the President of KEMCAANA, an organization which over the years has been served by a large number of dedicated, accomplished, and committed members.
We have seen remarkable growth in our programs over the past five years. Our scholarship program has grown exponentially, and now offers 75 scholarships to undergraduate students at KEMU. This is one of the largest alumni led scholarship programs at a Pakistani medical college. The scholarship program is funded by an endowment which is run by a committee of KEMCAANA members.
We are also pleased by the generous donation made in honor of one of our Alumnus, Dr. Sajid Hamdani. This donation allowed for the installation of Wi-Fi equipment on the KEMU campus, which will assist all KEMU students, staff and residents to access information for learning and patient care instantly which can markedly improve patient care.
Over the last four years, KEMCAANA took a lead in rebuilding a village in Muzaffargarh. KEMCAANA Village, Farooqabad now has 100 new homes, a water filtration plant , a school, a library and a vocational center.
KEMCAANA, with the help of the APPNA family, looks forward to building a Burn Center in Lahore in the near future. Your assistance is critical in building this much needed facility which will provide relief to burn victims. If built as planned, it will have an immediate impact in improving critical care at the attached hospital.
KEMCAANA is also providing residential facilities (in Philadelphia and Detroit) for Pakistani medical graduates as they prepare to apply for training programs in the United States. We are able to fund these residential facilities through your kind generosity.
I look forward to your active participation in KEMCAANA. The best way to participate is through your membership on one of our many committees. Please review the committee list on our website and kindly inform KEMCAANA of your interest.
