5th Annual KEMCAANA Retreat 2010
Baltimore Harbor

The Annual KEMCAANA Retreat provides a unique opportunity to Kemcolians for networking, making plans to help our Alma Mater and to improve services to our members. We are currently working actively to make this event a memorable one for the Kemcolians and their families.

This year the Retreat shall be held in Baltimore, MD at Hyatt Regency Hotel located at the Inner Harbor from March 19 till March 21, 2010.

The Inner Harbor has been renovated over the past few years and has become a premiere Tourist attraction for all. Perfectly situated on downtown Baltimore’s picturesque Inner Harbor, the AAA Four-Diamond Hyatt Regency Baltimore offers exceptional luxury, attentive service, and thoughtful amenities. From the hotel, you can stroll to Camden Yards, the National Aquarium, or the Baltimore Convention Center. Just a short walk away is the Galleria Mall, the Science Museum and Baltimore City’s other attractions and entertainment venues.

To add to the enjoyment of this event, dinner shall be served abroad a Cruise Ship on March 19, Friday evening at the Baltimore Harbor. For those who take special enjoyment in poetry and literature a night of “Mushaira” is being arranged with the best poets in attendance.

Five (5) hours of CME has been scheduled for Saturday morning, leaving the afternoon free for enjoying the traditional shops and exhibits. The Saturday night dinner will be followed by an entertainment program, the details of which are being worked out. Sunday breakfast will include the traditional halva puri. We welcome any suggestions from the membership to improve our annual retreat.

5th ANNUAL KEMCAANA RETREAT HIGHLIGHTS

It is a matter of great pride to share with you that KEMCAANA held a very successful 5th annual retreat on March 19 to 21. The great attendance and the active involvement by alumni from graduates of 1960's to the most recent bode well for our organization.

The active participation in the strategic session by members led to the formation of three think tank groups. One of these groups will conduct deliberations on KEMCAANA’s institution-building, while the other two groups will come up with recommendations on priority project lists for the United States and for Pakistan.

The current successful initiatives, including the scholarship program and access to information through the internet and computer libraries, were felt to be prized projects. These projects are supporting the financial needs of deserving students and bring state of the art information of medical literature to the desks of our students. These endeavors along with curriculum reform project will help elevate the standard of education at KEMU to the expected level of excellence of today's physician.
